Round Table Topic: “Digitalization of the State Border and Border Protection Using Artificial Intelligence.”
On February 27, 2026, the Academic School of “Law” held a round table on the topic “Digitalization of the State Border and Border Protection Using Artificial Intelligence.”
The event was attended by students of the “Law” program and 2nd–3rd year cadets of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty. The organizers and facilitators were senior lecturers of the school: Ashimbaev D.A., Madzigon A.O., and Tanibergenova R.K.
During the discussion, it was emphasized that digitalization of the state border is a strategically important direction for ensuring national security in the context of growing illegal migration, cross-border crime, and cyber threats.
The round table particularly focused on the practical aspects of using artificial intelligence technologies in border protection. It was noted that AI is used for video surveillance analysis, biometric identification, and risk prediction, enhancing the efficiency of border control.
Following the presentations, a ceremonial award ceremony was held for participants and winners: 2nd-year student of the “Law” program Aitmolda Amina was awarded a First-Degree Diploma in the category “Best Critical Perspective on the Issue”; Sarsenbai Adilet received a Certificate of Merit in the category “Practical Relevance of Conclusions.” The academic supervisor was senior lecturer Ashimbaev D.A.
The organizers thanked the participants and expressed hope for further success and professional growth of the students.
