As part of the course “Psychological Service in Educational Institutions”, 3rd-year students of the “Psychology” educational program completed practical training at the Kazakhstan–Russian Specialized School-Lyceum No. 54 named after I.V. Panfilov.
The training was conducted by Associate Professor Valentina Kelseyevna Khristoforova, who introduced students to the structure, functions, and real working environment of the school’s psychological service.
A key highlight of the session was the meeting with the school’s practicing educational psychologist, Venera Konstantinovna Okasova, a graduate of Kainar University (Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees). She shared her professional experience, demonstrated diagnostic, preventive, and counseling methods, and explained the specifics of psychological support in a multicultural school setting.
During the practical session, students:
· studied the structure and functional areas of the school psychological service;
· observed real work of an educational psychologist;
· reviewed documentation, planning materials, and methodological resources;
· discussed professional competencies, ethics, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Such practice-based training significantly strengthens the professional skills of future psychologists and enhances their readiness to work in educational institutions.
