Participation of Representatives of the Academic School of Law in the Expert Meeting on “Improving Housing Conditions for Parents of Children with Disabilities”

The Academic School of Law of “Q University” continues to actively develop cooperation with the school’s partner — the Almaty branch of the Public Foundation “Mama Pro”, which provides support to mothers and families raising children with special needs.

On May 14, 2026, an expert meeting on the topic “Improving Housing Conditions for Parents of Children with Disabilities” was held at the university. The event was jointly organized by the Public Foundation “Mama Pro” and the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA).

Representatives of the school participated in the event, including Candidate of Legal Sciences,

Associate Professor Umurzakov E.A., and Senior Lecturer and practicing lawyer Zhumayeva M.S. During the meeting, the lecturers acted as experts and, together with the participants, discussed current issues related to improving housing conditions for families raising children with disabilities.

The participants of the expert meeting emphasized that ensuring access to stable, safe, and decent housing for families raising children with disabilities should be considered one of the priorities of the social policy of the city of Almaty.

Following the discussion, a resolution was adopted containing a number of proposals and recommendations to be submitted to the Akimat of Almaty and relevant government bodies.

For its part, the Academic School of Law informed the participants about the activities of the legal clinic operating at the school, as well as the provision of free legal assistance to families raising children with special needs by the clinic’s lecturers and practicing lawyers.
