The Library organizes the temporary lending of books, newspapers, magazines, and other materials available in the library to readers. Home lending is carried out through the circulation department.
Materials intended for use in the reading room are not lent out. To improve services for readers who, for various reasons, cannot use the reading rooms, the library provides a “Night Lending” service. Encyclopedias, reference books, dissertations, current periodicals, and rare or valuable books are available for use in the reading rooms only. Items marked as “Mandatory Copy” and the last or only available copies are not issued for home use.
Readers may extend the lending period for books and other printed materials if there is no demand from other users. Upon receiving books or materials, readers must inspect them and report any defects to the librarian. The last user is responsible for any damage to the borrowed materials.
Readers who violate the rules or damage library property bear administrative and civil (financial) liability in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the University Charter, and the Library Use Policy. Readers responsible for lost or damaged items must replace them with identical or equivalent copies as recognized by the library, or reimburse their actual market value if replacement is not possible.
The right to use the University Library is granted to students, master’s students, researchers, faculty, and university staff.
Readers are served through the circulation department. Upon registering, users must read the Library Use Policy and confirm their acceptance by signing the registration form.
Users are required to re-register annually between September 1 and 25. Those who fail to re-register will not be served.
Upon graduation, withdrawal, or termination of employment, users must return all borrowed library materials.
Users are required to follow the Library Use Policy, including registration procedures, borrowing rules, annual re-registration, and proper use of reading rooms and the circulation department.
Library use is free of charge. A list of additional paid services and any restrictions is approved by the university president-rector.
